Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Sammy desktop application or visiting the sammyapp.io website (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. License

Sammy is released under the MIT License. You are free to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the software, subject to the conditions of the MIT License included with the source code. The Sammy™ trademark and associated branding are owned by Pixelmind Ventures and are not covered by the MIT License.

3. Your API Keys

Sammy uses AI provider API keys that you supply when connecting to cloud providers (OpenAI, Anthropic). You are solely responsible for obtaining, securing, and managing those keys and for any charges incurred through their use. Pixelmind Ventures has no access to your API keys. When using a private/local LLM server (such as Ollama or LM Studio), no API key is required and no data is transmitted outside your machine.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
• Generate, distribute, or store illegal, harmful, or abusive content.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract proprietary components of the Service beyond what is permitted by the MIT License.

5. Third-Party Services

Sammy supports integration with third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic) as well as private/local LLM servers you operate yourself (Ollama, LM Studio, vLLM, and OpenAI-compatible endpoints). Pixelmind Ventures is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party service. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. PIXELMIND VENTURES DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PIXELMIND VENTURES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

8. Changes to Terms

Pixelmind Ventures reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
